on 10 Oct 2007 felt a different kind of pain, like very bad menstrual cramps during lunch time at office. and also had some brown vaginal discharge. so sms my gynae to check, she ask me to monitor my pain, the timing of the pain.
at about 4pm, i ask to leave the office early, as my gynae advise me to see her in the private suite rather than checkin in to the delivery suite, in case of false alarm again. so did that, met up with my gynae, did a check and cervix is soft and open up to 3cm already..
gynae say to check in after this, i told her i want to go home and bathe first then i check in. so went home took a long bath, hubby scrub my back for me. keke, cos after birth 1 month cannot bathe leh..
contractions kept coming, about once every 5 mins. so finally at about 10 pm i check in to the delivery suite. just right my gynae had just delivered another baby.
so went in at about 10pm, and strap down for contractions, and listen to baby heartbeat. but then contractions still not very regular yet. gynae came in about 11pm , check on the cervix and say that we can start to induce and break water back.
she broke the water bag, wah, i felt sooo relieved, cos the water is warm. keke, then had to put in the drip as to induce the labour, as my baby had started to pass motion in the the womb already, cannot delay any more. So doc change another stronger type of drip for me at about 12 midnite, and i felt contractions came a bit more intense. The midwife came to explain to me if i wanted to have Epidural, but i insisted not to. she even gave me that paper to read. haha i told her no need, i want a drug free delivery for my baby.
so about 1am, contractions coming quite intense, and 2 midwives come in to check the dilation of the cervis, wah its about 4 cm, still long way to go, as they expect, 1 cm per 1 hour. wah then i say.. oh dear, means another 6 hours more to go.. ahhh, i dun wan.. but i can feel that the baby is moving downwards, as i feel like going to the toilet and pass motion. then as contractions get worst, i pray hard, and i use the gas like nobody business, my hubby was all the way beside me giving me strenght but then when contractions come, i was shouting like hell, but then inside the gas mask.. ahha shouting inside the mask..
the midwife say that i am wasting my energy shouting. i have to breathe with every contraction, i say wah.. its like super pain lor.. how to breathe, the gas is not working at all leh.. i think i breathe tooo hard till my head was spinning and i was slurring in my speech..
about 2am, another midwife came in, and check, wah my cervis open to 8cm liao, with the contraction so intense of course lah, call my gynae to come to start the delivery..
by 2.30am, the pain was sooo intense untill i wanted to give up and ask for epidural, but then its too late, baby is coming out soon, no use liao, so i had no choice but to use the gas like no bodies business.. soon, my gynae arrived, and say that its time.. i had already started to push, and i heard someone told me that dun push first, as the cervix not fully dilated if not it will be very sore. wah, i really need to push.. then i felt a gush of water. haha i had to urine, as the bladder is damn full lor.. so after urinating, i started to push again, then kenna scolding again, but i know its for my own good. ahha..
about 3am, i was really to deliver, so when every contractions come, i try to push, but then by the time i had already no strenght to push, my hubby and gynae and the midwife had to support my leg, and my head to push when the contraction come.. i almost wanted to give up at this point of time, my gynae say cannot go for csection as can see the baby head already, so i had no choice, i got to push again. not too sure how many times i push, i push hard against my gynae, and the midwife tummy.. haha sorry if i have hurt them especially my gynae, cos she bery petite one. hehe and finally, my little boi is out.
Baby Lucas is borned at 0324hr at KKH Delivery Suite 11 on 11 Oct 2007, by Doctor Marianne Hendricks and Midwife, Junaidah, weighing 3.17kg..
Thanks to them, without them i dun think i can do it, and without any medication or epidural...
