my mother has advised me to go to a geomancer to give the chinese name for my baby. I was wondering how much is it to engage this service? Any recommendations to a good geomancer?

my boy's chinese name was given by a geomancer... tink its name was "you long zi", cos $100, he will give a combination of 8x8 sets of name suitable. if wan to hear him explain, have to pay extra

i heard bad comment about this YOU LONG ZI at the other forum. these days he is not as good as before... maybe becoming more popular so show more attitude now, too.

what happen was 2 colleagues went to him and happen to see that the names given to these 2 persons were the same.

my cousin went there. in fact went back again cos the 1st time visit, the choices of name weren't that great...

The 1 i went was 'Long Tian Xiang'. But i dunno how much cos it's my MIL who called & paid for it. He will calculate out the strokes for the surname & names then give u a list of wat characters can be used for the baby's names. In case if u need, his contact number is 90675008 or 64523048. Erm if it's based on the date & time of birth, then when registering the bb for birth cert at the hospital... how to include the chinese name?

I used the same one as Charmaine too.....if you are still unsure of the bb's Chinese name, then you can't make the birth cert at the hospital...... hv to go to ICA at Lavender to make within 14 days of bb's birth.

oops.... ya, can still go back to the hospital when u gave birth ..... I said ICA bcos the hosp was too far away for us to go back

that is why cannot make the birth cert until chinese name is fixed.
for older child we went to ica to make the birth cert
2nd one we went to hospital cos my son was still in hospital

u can make ur BC within 14 days at the hospital
after that got to go ICA
have to register birth within one month

I went to Jek Ming at Chinatown. Cost $78 using calculation of strokes suitable for the surname(takes a few days) and $288 using the date and time of birth(takes 2 weeks).

Some say he use computerised calculation...that means alot of babies will be names the same

If go ICA do birth cert hor, they print the chinese character. So no need to write.

i also went there for both my ds name. It's at Blk 333 Kreta Ayer Rd #02-16.

my parents took my baby's details to a geomancer in marine parade. Apparently this guy is very popular among the local actors and actresses.. but I need to wait 14 days to get the name. If it is after 14 days, we need to register at ICA ah??

Not bad lah! My elder,my baby and my BIL's DD go for him. Moreover of the rate quite affordable.

I did my bb naming @ Huaxia Tamaobi (opp TMC) and paid S$88 for it.
Ready within 24-hrs.

Was told that the shi-fu who is doing the naming is in HK.
Will give you 5 names which the shi-fu thinks is the best. But if you don't like it, you will be given 10 2nd character and 3rd character which you can mix and match yourself.

I didn't know Huaxia got this service. I thought they only do the brush from baby's hair (from Zoe Tay's advertisement).

Brush from bb's hair...? Any special meaning or symbolism to do so?

Baby naming should be $80 and is not computer-generated. Parents can make known their preference of names and the geomancer can find a good word etc.
