Hi Folks

Most parents I know hate to use steriod creams for their kids, me too.

I have asked countless of doctors over the last 4 years for non steriod creams for eczema, and everyone of them told me that there is none, and that steriod is a MUST to treat eczema sad.gif

Yesterday I finally found a doctor who is able to prescribe a non steriod cream for dd!!!!

Yes, its called Propotic.
I am not sure if its suitable for all types of eczema, perhaps our very own "Ido, in-house" pharmacist can advise? tongue.gif

Else you all got to ask your doctor.

Its very expensive though sad.gif
Unlike its steriod counterparts which costs $10 or less, Protopic costs me $60.73 at KKH parmacy.

erm.... she was with Professor Ngaim from the National Skin Centre for the last 3 years.

Just switched her to KKH, Dr Chew (dont know his full name, but he is a visiting consultant I think), and this Dr Chew was the one who gave her this non steriod cream

Erm... to prevent flare up:
1. check to see if your child is allergic to any particular allergens (via skin prick test)
2. use mild soap for shower, ie Cethephil or QV, etc
3. keep him in a cool, dry place when possible possible (cos heat and humidity causes perspiration, thus increasing the chance of ezcema)

Yea, Jamie's skin has been bad recently due to the hot weather..... no choice, have been using air con every night when she comes back from school..... sigh...... I dread to see my PUB end of the month sad.gif ( tongue.gif )

Oh $10+!!?

Cool, I'll check it out at the pharmacy.....

OTC means no need prescription?

Previously she used Dhacort Cream and Dermasone which is really cheap!!! (less than $5, as well as Uniflex and Elomat which are $10++

While I like Elomat, I cant help feeling worried cos its steriod contents are high.

I shall check up EgoProryle, after I am done with Propotic.

Yea... its dammed expensive!
And since I am a subsidised patient, doctor hesitate to prescribed to me, warning me of the price before he prescribed.... lol2.gif

But to me, the well being of my child surpassed the importance of anything else.
